Plastic surgery is a medical specialty concerned with the correction or restoration of form and function.While famous for aesthetic surgery.The plastic surgery includes two main categories
  • Cosmetic surgery
  • Reconstructive surgery

 Cosmetic surgery procedures alter a part of the body that the person is not satisfied with.Common cosmetic procedures include making the breasts larger or smaller, reshaping the nose and removing pockets of fat from specific spots on the body.Some cosmetic procedures aren't even surgical in the way that most people think of surgery that is cutting and stitching.For example the use of special lasers to remove unwanted hair and sanding skin to improve severe scarring are two such treatments.You can also add some inches in your height through this surgery.
Reconstructive surgery
Reconstructive surgery procedures correct defects of the face or body.These include physical birth defects like cleft lips and palates,ear deformities,traumatic injuries like those from dog bites or burns or the aftermath of disease treatments like rebuilding a woman's breast after surgery for breast cancer.

Peoples view plastic surgery as a way to fit in and look acceptable to friends and peers. As you say the other hand frequently see plastic surgery as a way to stand out from the crowd.The number of Peoples who choose to get plastic surgery is on the rise.According to the American society of plastic surgeons over 333,000 people 18 years and younger had plastic surgery in 2005 and up from about 306,000 in 2000.Some people turn to plastic surgery to correct a physical defect or to alter a part of the body that makes them feel uncomfortable.For example guys with a condition called gynecomastia (excess breast tissue) that doesn't go away with time or weight loss may opt for reduction surgery.A girl or guy with a birthmark may turn to laser treatment to lessen its appearance.Other peoples decide they want a cosmetic change because they’re not happy about the way they look.Peoples who have cosmetic procedures such as otoplasty (surgery to pin back ears that stick out)or dermabrasion(a procedure that can help smooth or camouflage severe acne scars)sometimes feel more comfortable with their appearance after the procedure.The most common procedures teens choose include nose reshaping,ear surgery,acne scar treatment and breast reduction.So that's why the plastic surgery is popular in short time.

ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF PLASTIC SURGERY
 When it comes to the advantages and disadvantages of plastic surgery you really have to look in more depth on the specific procedure you plan on having done.Although each possible procedure has its own list of pros and cons associated with it they can all be generalized for simplicity.The biggest disadvantages associated with plastic surgery are the risks as well as the price tag,however when compared to the benefits these will usually outweigh the disadvantages of plastic surgery.For starters whether you are having a reconstructive procedure or a cosmetic procedure, the goal is to make yourself look better.While some people who decide to under go the knife may already look great there are many others who have been teased and taunted their entire life about their features.Not only do years of teasing and taunting take their toll on a person's emotional well being but a person who does not like something about themselves will also cause an emotional scare.Since who we are has a lot to do with our emotions then it is safe to say that even the smallest procedure that effects our self esteem in a positive manor can outwardly make you seen as a whole new person. Isn't it what it is all about changing ourselves so not only we look better but feel better as well?The obvious risks associated with plastic surgery are the possibilities of not only having a complication but also receiving bad work.No wants to pay a substantial amount of money to end up looking worse than before they went in for the procedure.On top of this there is also no one who wants to pay to have a procedure dine just so they can have nerves damaged.In order to bett er understand the advantages and disadvantages of plastic surgery you really have to talk with the surgeon who will be in charge of your procedure so that he or she can better explain the risks.It is also important that you are as well informed as you can be in case you have to make a decision as it is better to make an informed decision rather than a guess.
